If you take a controlled medication for pain, hurricane season needs planning that other prescriptions do not. Schedule II prescriptions cannot simply be refilled early or called in the way an ordinary medication can — a new prescription is required, and that takes an office that is open. When a storm is forecast, contact us before the evacuation window rather than during it, and know which pharmacies near you stay open. If a scheduled procedure is cancelled by a closure, we will reschedule and tell you how to manage in the meantime rather than leaving you to work it out.

Radiofrequency ablation uses heat to interrupt the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. It is offered after diagnostic blocks confirm those joints are the source. Relief commonly lasts six to twelve months, sometimes longer, and the procedure can be repeated when nerves regenerate.
