Frequently Asked
Frequently asked questions about Dr. Samani.
When should someone see a chiropractor?
Most people come in because something hurts — back pain, neck pain, pain running down the arm or leg, headaches that won't quit. If you've been putting up with it for more than a few weeks, that's reason enough to be seen. Dr. Samani also sees patients who aren't in pain yet but want to stay that way. Sitting at a desk all day, carrying stress in your neck and shoulders, or an old injury that never felt quite right — those are all worth addressing before they become something harder to treat.
Will the adjustment hurt?
Most patients are surprised by how gentle it is. An adjustment isn't something done to you without warning — Dr. Samani explains what she's doing and why before anything happens. Some people feel immediate relief. Some feel mild soreness for a day or two, similar to how muscles feel after exercise. Occasionally there's a popping sound, which is pressure releasing in the joint — not bones cracking. If something doesn't feel right at any point, you say so. The whole visit is a conversation, not a procedure you just endure.
Does chiropractic care actually work for back and neck pain?
It does — and there's real research behind it. For musculoskeletal pain, particularly low back and neck pain, chiropractic care is recommended in clinical guidelines and performs on par with or better than medication for many patients. What makes the difference is getting the diagnosis right first. Dr. Samani doesn't just treat where it hurts. She figures out what's actually driving it — whether that's a spinal issue, a muscle imbalance, or something that needs a different kind of care entirely — and treats accordingly.
How many sessions will I need before I feel better?
That depends on what's going on and how long it's been going on. Acute problems — pain that came on recently — often respond in a handful of visits. Chronic conditions that have been building for months or years take longer. What Dr. Samani won't do is put you on an open-ended treatment plan without explaining why. At the first visit, she'll give you a realistic sense of what to expect and when. If you're not improving on schedule, the plan changes. You're not coming back indefinitely because that's just how it works here.
What does Dr. Samani treat beyond back pain?
Back pain is the most common reason people come in, but it's far from the only one. Dr. Samani treats neck pain, headaches and migraines that originate from the spine, shoulder and hip pain, sciatica, and numbness or pain running into the arms or legs. She also sees patients with posture-related pain from long hours at a desk or from old injuries that never fully healed. If you're not sure whether chiropractic care is right for what you're dealing with, the first visit is the right time to find out.
How does chiropractic care at Remix Medical work alongside the other doctors?
This is one of the real advantages of a multispecialty practice. If Dr. Samani sees something during your exam that looks like it needs a different kind of attention — imaging, a pain management consult, a primary care workup — she can get that moving without you starting over somewhere else. It works the other way too. Physicians at Remix Medical refer patients to Dr. Samani when the problem is musculoskeletal and conservative care makes sense before considering injections or surgery. Your care stays in one place.
Is chiropractic care safe — and are there situations where it isn't right for someone?
For the vast majority of patients, chiropractic care is safe and well-tolerated. Serious complications are rare. That said, there are situations where certain adjustments aren't appropriate — severe osteoporosis, specific fracture types, some vascular conditions, or patients on certain blood thinners. Dr. Samani reviews your health history and any imaging before recommending treatment. If chiropractic care isn't right for you — or not right for a particular part of your spine — she'll tell you, and she'll tell you what is. No one gets adjusted who shouldn't be.
I was in a car accident — should I see a chiropractor even if I feel okay right now?
Yes — and sooner matters more than most people realize. After a collision, adrenaline and inflammation can mask pain for hours or even days. By the time you feel it, the injury has already been there. The most common issues Dr. Samani sees after accidents are whiplash, soft tissue injuries to the neck and back, and joint stress that doesn't show up right away. Getting evaluated quickly matters for two reasons: it's better for your recovery, and it establishes a clear record connecting your symptoms to the accident. Waiting weeks to be seen makes both of those harder.
Does Dr. Samani treat work injuries and workers’ compensation cases?
Yes. Work injuries — whether from a single incident or from cumulative strain over time — are a significant part of Dr. Samani's practice. She's experienced with the documentation requirements of workers' compensation claims and understands that accurate records matter for both your care and your case. If you've been hurt on the job, chiropractic evaluation is often an appropriate and covered first step. Dr. Samani can work with your employer's carrier or your attorney to make sure the documentation reflects what actually happened and what treatment is warranted.
Can Dr. Samani provide documentation for a personal injury or legal claim?
Yes. When injuries result from an accident, a fall, or a workplace incident, thorough documentation is part of the care. Dr. Samani's records reflect the full picture — mechanism of injury, clinical findings, treatment provided, and progress over time. That kind of detailed record matters for your recovery and for any legal or insurance claim that follows. Attorneys and case managers who refer patients to Dr. Samani can expect clear communication and records that hold up. If you have questions about what's needed for a specific case, the front desk can help coordinate.
