What to expect
Your first internal medicine visit at Remix Medical.
A first visit takes about an hour. You'll leave with a written plan in the patient portal the same day. Tap any step below for the details.
Before you arrive
Complete new-patient paperwork through the patient portal (about 15 minutes). Bring — or have your prior doctor fax — recent labs, a current medication list including over-the-counter and supplements, and any specialist notes.
Arrive 15 minutes early
The front desk verifies your insurance and finishes any paperwork. Plan for about 45 to 60 minutes for a first visit.
Your visit with the internist
Expect a real history — your conditions, what’s been tried, what’s worrying you — a focused exam, and a review of your labs in plain language. If you came in for one thing and three others need attention, we’ll say so.
Your plan
You’ll leave with a written plan: what we’re treating, what’s changing, which screenings or labs come next, and when we’ll see you again. A copy is in your portal the same day.
Follow-up
Most patients with stable chronic conditions are seen every 3 to 6 months. Between visits, message the office through the portal or call — we answer the same business day.

Can I be seen for a sudden illness, not just checkups?
Yes — sinus infections, urinary infections, a bad cough, or a flare of a chronic condition are all same-week visits. Being your ongoing doctor means we already know your history when something comes up.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your insurance card and ID, a list of every medication and supplement you take, recent lab or test results (or your prior doctor’s fax number so we can request them), and any specialist notes. If you track your blood pressure or blood sugar at home, bring the log.
Do you offer telehealth?
